You have heard a lot about titanium material. You know that it’s lightweight and durable. Just imagine, SR-71 “Blackbird” aircraft is made out of this material. So, it must be good for a watch. But, how good? Have you ever wondered? I have. And made a little research to bring to light my favorite timepieces that come in the titanium version. Oh, God, I’m so grateful to the replica manufacturers that they use this material just like the big brands.
Referring to the big brands, by the way, it was the Citizen who announced the first commercial titanium watch back in 1970. It was an X-8 Chronometer. So, it would be no mistake from my side to reveal that titanium is a little bit inferior to steel, in terms of scratch. Chemists, correct me if I’m wrong! Currently, experts use several techniques to improve material resistance to scratches. However, the “perfect” technique hasn’t been discovered yet and scratches are still likely to show up.
Personally, I don’t have any issues with scratches on watches. On the contrary, I’m an old-fashioned watch lover in this regard. I find scratches as valuable marks showing time passage. And they also show that the watch has been loved and worn, and not kept somewhere in the closet for “God knows” what occasion.
Without any further ado, why don’t we jump to the subject right away? But, before all, let me make myself clear: in this post, I won’t get much in-depth with the technical aspects of the following replicas. The replica factories seem to get stuck in new titanium-processing tools and look to add some new techniques. Meanwhile, they produce nice stainless steel versions, ranging from 316 to 904L versions. In addition, customers can opt for more affordable versions, but remember that their lifespan is about 1-3 years. More expensive options vary from 4 years to a lifetime. So it all depends on your purposes and your budget.
