I have a “love or hate” relationship with replica watches from the Seamaster series. Each of the new releases either makes me fall in love with these models all over again or disappoints me. We recently received a new batch of Seamasters 300 and I still had the aftertaste of the previous release. If you recall, the release was not a successful one at all and the manufacturers made plenty of errors in it. As far as I can remember, the case was of an absolutely inappropriate size. Hour and second hands had a too-long shape while the authentic model had short hands that barely reached the tip of the hour markers. In short, I was disappointed with the previous release and I didn’t even want to review the new Seamaster 300.
I had no choice, as reviewing replica watches is my job and passion. I don’t want to instill in you my negative aftertaste regarding the Seamaster 300 watches. Therefore, I hasten to tell you that the new release comes with a series of visible changes and improvements. Well, let’s see in detail what the new release is about.
First of all, you should know that the factory we collaborate with has launched 2 new models. It is about a black model and one with a rose gold bezel and crown. Both have ceramic material in them, just like the previous models. The difference is that the ceramic from the previous ones was not at all dense and any impact on the watch left visible marks. I don’t know if it’s a problem with the finish or the ceramic material, but I hope that the new release will solve this issue as well.
The New Seamaster 300 Replica Watches
Of the 2 new models available, I resonate more with the full black version. I’m probably already tired of bright spots on the watches and my spirit is looking for something neutral, solid, formal, and serious. This is exactly what the black Seamaster 300 reveals to me. However, I must admit that the rose-gold bezel model did not create an unpleasant first impression on me. On the contrary, the color seems balanced and the rose gold is not as “screaming” as the one from the previous version. My first impression is that this Seamaster watch looks more authentic than any other I’ve seen so far.
The full black Seamaster comes completely ceramic. This is good news for those who don’t like the combination of stainless steel and ceramic. I admit that I was one of them. Either way, I measured both watches because I was curious to see if the manufacturers solved the problem of the wrong diameter last time. Both watches have the same diameter and the same thickness. It is about 43.5 mm large and 14.2 mm tall for each of them. Well, much better than the previous 44.2mm which was not even close to the authentic model. And as you know, I always look for a replica watch to look as close as possible to its original model. Otherwise, I don’t consider it a replica, just a bad-taste copy.
Aesthetic details
If I’m talking about the full-black Seamaster, I admit that all the ceramic details are adorable. This refers to the casing, crown, bezel, caseback, and buckle on the strap – what forms almost the entire accessory. The style is versatile, casual, and slightly elegant, I would say. However, this one has a sportier nature than the second Seamaster with gold accents on it. The latter has a more formal essence and I think it is better suited for an office environment or light special occasions.
Even if the Seamaster black style vibrates better with me, I admit that its legibility is worse than in the rose-gold bezel model. This is because the hour markers and hands are fully black, and I have to focus to read the time, even if the watch is not at all busy. In the rose-gold model, on the dial, legibility is superb due to the contrast between the black dial and the white hour markers.
In addition, lume light is quite weak in the black model. I don’t understand why the manufacturers weren’t more generous with the lume layer. In the dark, the watch is very poorly visible as the lume coating barely illuminates. On the other hand, the rose-gold Seamaster is a real beauty in the dark. The lume is much brighter; I think the white hour markers contribute to the brightness. Regardless of the reason, the second watch is more readable and does not compromise visibility even in the dark.
Technical details
The beauty of things is the reliable mechanism in these 2 models. In this sense, the manufacturers have included a better movement than in the previous versions. It is about the new 8806 clone automatic movement. To be honest, the manufacturers could have made a bigger leap and equipped them with a super clone 8806. However, we must be grateful for this small improvement because the clone 8806 has an extremely low rate of flaws and repair issues. The next version of these Seamasters may come with a super clone movement.
Many people ask me why these Seamasters have different functionality compared to genuine Seamasters. Well, these replicas indeed come with the date function that is missing in the original models. The explanation lies in the mechanism used by the manufacturers. The internal mechanism supports a pull-out section for date adjustment and they decided to use it for the comfort of the buyers. While this function might be useful for most watch lovers, this shows that the watch is a replica because the genuine watch does not have this function.
Bottom line
So, here are the conclusions of this new Seamaster 300 release:
- the style of the full-black ceramic model looks very solid. However, it is less legible due to the mono- chromaticity;
- the Seamaster rose-gold bezel style is a bit more elegant, but with enough versatile substance in it. Its readability and visibility in the dark is superb and much better than the black one;
- manufacturers have made serious improvements in the diameter of the watches. This time, they are closer to the genuine Seamaster model;
- the internal mechanism is more reliable than in previous versions. Yet, there is still room for better with a super clone movement;
- replica watches have the date function that is missing in authentic watches. So, you won’t be able to easily convince those around you that you are wearing a genuine Seamaster.
